The Doctors Behind the Simplicity
John Jones, MD, FACEP, FAAP: Owner
As a graduate of George Washington School of Medicine and undergraduate of Dartmouth College, Dr. Jones earned several departmental awards in research and medicine during his course of study. His residency was completed in emergency medicine at George Washington University. Dr. Jones began his career in emergency medicine at the Quincy Medical Center in Quincy, MA, where he taught residents and was a clinical instructor at Boston University.
Having a special interest in pediatric emergency, he applied and was accepted in a two-year fellowship program at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children. He is boarded by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Emergency Physicians, one of the few physicians in the country who are double boarded in both emergency medicine and pediatric emergency medicine.
Most recently, Dr. Jones worked as an emergency physician at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, MD in both the pediatric and adult emergency departments. He also taught residents and is a clinical instructor at Georgetown University.
He maintains affiliations with several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and The American College of Emergency Physicians. He is also active with the Urgent Care Association of America.
John Maguire, MD, FACEP: Owner
Dr. Maguire obtained his medical degree from Georgetown University, having graduated Magna Cum Laude from Radford University with an undergraduate degree in Biology. His residency was completed in emergency medicine at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA and he became board certified the following year.
He is director of the emergency department for INOVA Springfield Healthplex in Springfield, VA, and is responsible for clinical operations and other administrative roles within the facility – a busy E.D with over 40,000 visits annually. Dr. Maguire serves as operational medical director for the PHI Air Medical Group, AIR CARE, helicopter transport services.
He also pursues special interests within the emergency medical field, often lecturing, conducting peer review, and participating in research.
Dr. Maguire’s professional affiliations include American College of Emergency Physicians, American Academy of Emergency Medicine, Air Medical Physicians Association, National Association of EMS Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the Urgent Care Association of America.
