Salma Haque MD
Every Day is a Learning Experience
Dr. Salma S. Hague loves to work with people of all backgrounds.
Since graduating from Louisiana State University Medical School, in Shreveport with an M.D. in 2005, Dr. Hague has built her career in the internal medicine field. Although it is her work in the urgent care field that started at Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center in D.C. that has brought her the most fulfillment.
Working in urgent care since 2008, Dr. Hague has welcomed the opportunity to help people who come from a variety of backgrounds. It has also allowed her to experience a large number of cases that make every day a learning experience. Not only does she love managing her patient’s health but she also likes studying the biology side of medicine as well.
After spending busy days helping her patients, Dr. Hague enjoys playing racquetball and reading, especially the classics. She has also written and prepared a number of presentations and publications during her career.
Humera Malik MD
Patients are a Whole Person – Not Just a Product of Their Disease
Being a member of ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Disease Society) along with her specification as a LLMD (Lyme Literate Doctor), Dr. Humera Malik is known for her work in treating patients with Lyme disease. While she is highly trained to treat such patients, she likes to assist all types of patients no matter what their needs are.
After graduating from Sindh Medical College in Pakistan with her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees, Humera relocated to the United States where she has been helping patients since 1997. Dr. Malik also has the unique and rare distinction as a Diplomate, American Board of Internal Medicine (DABIM).
Instead of focusing solely on her patient’s specific disease or condition, Dr. Malik sees her patient’s as whole body. She prefers a proactive approach and emphasizes preventative medicine with her patients.
In addition to being fluent in English, Humera is also fluent in Yurgu, which is her native language. When she is not focused on helping her patients, she loves to spend time with her husband and three children. She enjoys going to the beach with them, swimming, and exercising regularly.
Jeremy Spinks MD
Making a Difference in Times of Need
Dr. Jeremy Spinks developed his interest in the medical field because he enjoys doing something meaningful.
As a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician with over 8 years of experience, Dr. Spinks enjoys interacting with his patients and being a source of comfort. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Nutrition Science in 2000, he completed his M.D. and emergency medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 2007.
Now that Dr. Spinks has relocated and become a licensed physician in Virginia, he appreciates the opportunity to work with his patients and help them in their time of need. Outside of his work as an Emergency Medicine Physician, Dr. Spinks spends his downtime with his family.
In his spare time, he likes to read and exercise, particularly by lifting weights and rock climbing. Dr. Spinks is also fluent in Spanish and has published a few publications based on his work in emergency medicine.

Anne Littman PA-C
Worldwide Experience with a Focus on Local Needs
Never planning on going into medicine, Anne Littman eventually realized that medicine found her. It was when she experienced chronic illness within her family that she found her true passion for taking care of others.
Once she graduated from Connecticut College with a B.A. in Psychology, Anne started a worldwide journey as a medical volunteer in a variety of situations. During those three years, she also pursued her studies in Health Sciences where she earned a Masters degree at George Washington University in 2010.
Since becoming a NCCPA Board Certified Physician Assistant, Anne has continued her work of helping take care of patients. In addition to her work in emergency medicine, Anne also has extensive experience working in the OB/GYN field for the underserved population. She is fluent in Spanish and has limited skills in speaking Hebrew and Italian.
When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her dog at the local dog park. She’s also an avid sports enthusiast and loves to play beach volleyball and soccer.

Rachel Shelton FNP
Early Volunteer Work Leads to Desire to Assist Those in Need
After graduating from George Mason University with her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 2001, Rachel Riley-Shelton began her extensive career in emergency medical care. In her youth, Rachel performed volunteer work at a hospital, which enhanced her interest in assisting patients who were in need.
With over eight years of experience as an Emergency Department Staff Nurse and her current role as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Rachel has developed a way to assist her patients with a personal touch. In addition to her experience, she also holds a Masters in Science in Nursing from George Mason University and a Post Masters Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Marymount University. She is certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support. She is also affiliated with the Virginia Nurses Association, Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners, and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
In her time away from Simplicity, she is a happy mom of three daughters. She also likes to run, swim, and is currently training for her first triathlon.
Patty Grzankowski LPN
Day-to-Day Operations Backed by a Lifetime of Nursing
Patty Grzankowski started her medical career as an LPN back in 1977. Since then she has worked in a variety of medical centers, offices and hospitals. Her experience ranges from pediatric care to emergency medicine to pre and post-op care. It was in 2003 that she started her transition to office management.
Patty keeps busy running the day-to-day operations at Simplicity Urgent Care. As a full-time manager, she handles most of the necessary administrative tasks to keep the office running smoothly. This includes assisting the doctors in running the facility as well as billing and marketing-related functions.
In her spare time, Patty loves to watch professional football. Since she and her husband are the parents of full-grown children, they enjoy being able to travel all over the world with friends and family. She also enjoys exercising, doing yard work, and just relaxing with a good book.
Miranda Peters PA-C
Combining the Opportunity to Help & Learn Every Day
Miranda Peters developed her extensive background in urgent and emergency care medicine while working towards completing her Masters of Science degree in Health Science at George Washington University. It was her work at the hospital there and in their Physician Assistant Program that exposed her to assisting patients who were critically ill.
In addition to her work at Simplicity, Miranda continues to work at the George Washington University Hospital as a Cardiothoracic ICU team leader, which is a title she has held there since 2011. Miranda is NCCPA Board Certified and holds DEA and CDS Licensures. She also holds credentials in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. She is licensed as a Physician Assistant in the District of Columbia.
Miranda loves the fact that she can combine helping people in need while learning every day with her work in urgent care. In her limited free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and also enjoys running. She is currently looking forward to participating in her next half-marathon.
